"Transformed" 2023 -  Canvas Print
Transformed was painted in acknowledgement of the new person I became after my stroke in 2020. An acknowledgement of the physical disabilities, mental health disorders, and cognitive delays I experienced. Essentially, although I was an adult physically, mentally I had the inclination of a 6 grader relearning the world around me, despite having 3 college degrees. It took a lot of acceptance to realize it was okay I had changed so much and that the giving myself grace would be the only way to move forward with a positive mentality. It was imperative for me to tell the post- stroke me I was still a good person, deserving of love and a judgement-free space to re-earn and grow into the person I want to be.
